A space to learn to care for our mental health
Talking about emotional well-being is important for both individuals and families. Recognizing our emotions, understanding everyday challenges, and learning ways to care for ourselves can help us build healthier relationships and communities.
With this purpose, Casa Comunitaria de Recursos (CCR) and Colibrí Consultores en Educación launched an educational initiative to reflect on mental health care from different perspectives.

Six sessions to reflect and learn
The seminar-workshop “Taking Care of My Mental Health” included six online sessions via Zoom, with free materials for participants.
The program invited participants to reflect on emotional well-being from a personal, family, and community perspective, including relationships with our children and everyday experiences.
The program was presented as an opportunity to learn self-care tools and recognize the importance of paying attention to our mental health.

Collaboration for community well-being
The initiative was promoted by Casa Comunitaria de Recursos and Colibrí Consultores en Educación.
The outreach materials also included Comunilife, the City of Poughkeepsie, and Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley, reflecting the presence of various organizations in this initiative.
For CCR, collaborating with other institutions is part of its work to bring information, education, and support opportunities to Dutchess County families.
A closing dedicated to the community
The program included an in-person gathering at the end of the sessions, with the participation of Patricia Ramos, introduced as a psychology professional.
This gathering was announced as an opportunity to share experiences and celebrate the close of the seminar.

Well-being is also built in community
Emotional well-being is connected to our experiences, relationships, and opportunities to receive support.
For Casa Comunitaria de Recursos, promoting conversations about mental health is part of the work to connect families with information, institutions, and community resources.
Initiatives like this seminar help keep these conversations going and recognize the importance of caring for our emotional health both individually and collectively.
